There is an ugly crawling creature in you

it is called the khoupitouhou, but it also takes many other names

and no name at all depending on persons

The khoupitouhou is misshapen and he misses some limbs

and have other limbs at totally the wrong place

We each have a khoupitouhou in us

and it is the voice we sometimes hear saying

we are not good enough, what we create is not beautiful enough

because the khoupitouhou puts his clumsy hand in everything we do

and we have the impression he spoils it all

as he brings his imperfections into the perfection we seek

We sometimes get very angry with our khoupitouhou

or very ashamed of him and we enclose him in a prison

we try to knock him unconscious, to ignore his existence

we want to be fair and perfect, not an ugly creature plodding around

the khoupitouhou takes many forms and he cannot be truly enclosed in one place

as he can transform into thin air and break through the prison’s walls

or rather he is so much part of us that we should kill ourselves in the first place

to eradicate the khoupitouhou’s existence

But that’s not our aim at all, nay, if you ever want to find happiness in life

you must embrace your inner khoupitouhou and feed him love and kindness and reassurance

when the khoupitouhou croaks and complains he is so ugly and can never make it

you should tell him that he is beautiful and very, very stronger, much stronger than he believes to be

your reinforcement should always be positive, like with a child, like with a small bird

that didn’t yet learnt how to fly

for if you truly believe in the miracle, one day the khoupitouhou shall be metamorphosed

one day he shall become the fairest creature you have ever seen, and his face shall grow into yours

and yours into him and you will become one, because you have always been

the khoupitouhou has always been part of you, and the day you give him enough love and confidence and support

he shall surprise you by growing winds and lending them to you

and then you shall start flying into the highest skies to the most distant lands

that are the closest to your heart and your dream

and you shall find a happiness you did not think existed in this world

Love the khoupitouhou, love yourself, love every song you sing, love every canvas you paint

in the exact same manner for all your creations are your sons and your daughters

and you cannot give more love to your sons and your daughters that are prettier or healthier than the others

nay, at the contrary, those who need your love most are those who have a missing arm and some form of sickness

because if they are to grow to adult age and metamorphose, they truly need to believe in themselves

and thus you must learn to find the beauty and the truth in each thing you create and in each thing surrounding you

and then, only then, your khoupitouhou shall metamorphose and become a winged creature

then, only then, shall you grow into the person you dreamt to be
