The lady waits

Day after day the lady waits in her castle

for her king to return

she stands long hours in front of the parapets watching the sea, the endless sea

scrutinizing the sky and the clouds to find signs of her beloved up there

and she waits, waits for the white ship to appear over the horizon

and prepare the city for a long-awaited feast

and rekindle all the lights of her heart
