Why didn’t you write me

When we saw each other

after nine months of near silence

you asked me, why didn’t you write me

why didn’t you reply to my last letter

I sent you three weeks ago

there was an urgency in your words, in your whisper

why didn’t you write me

why didn’t you write me

a pain, a sadness, an urge

write me, write me, write me

when you are usually the one not to write me, out of fear

but deep down in your heart there’s the same love that shines in my heart

the same colors that try to break free from the grayness that stifles them
