Sunless morning

rapelle-toi chantal peguiron

This morning the sun has not risen

and my body is shivering in this cold

I feel acutely your lack, your absence

in the printed leaves I turn

in the unconstructed words I write

prose has been deserted poetry since a long while

the ways to fantasy and imagination

have been cut for me

and I realize how powerless I am alone

I try to fill the void you left

in every possible way I try to fill it

and I launch myself mind and heart into these endeavors

only to realize I am fooling myself yet another time

you are unique and irreplaceable

and even if I own millions or billions of all what counts in this world

I’ll still feel your absence as acutely as ever

Only your presence, and your presence alone

if sufficient to fill my heart with warmth

and my imagination with worlds

your presence stirs the slumbering ambers of my soul

rekindles them in magnificent fires of green and blue and violet flames

Return oh angel of my dream

please return

and stop fighting me with all what you find

razor blades and knives and dented words

as if I were your archenemy

Because I’m not, I’m not

and you’re feeling my absence as deeply as I’m feeling yours

  1. I love it! Raw beauty. The sun was shining strongly in the Netherlands today. I hope it can give you something of its comfort
