Sunday morning

Colored sand bottle

I’ve struggled with my watercolor yesterday

until out of frustration I washed it under the tap

letting water carry away the last layer of painting

I added a hues of orange and brown later on to fill the gaps

and it yielded interesting effects

reminding me of the colored sand bottles we had

that used to fascinate me when I was a child

I had several vivid dreams in my sleep

and I spent a bit of time idling in bed before waking up

When I finally emerged I felt a lot of peace

and excitement at the new day that started

and I realized that since my childhood I had not felt

so carefree and eager to live

  1. I sometimes scrub my canvases when I have applied too much acrylic paint, I too often find some magic underneath.

  3. I know you didn’t mean to have the painting turn out the way it did, but I love it. I’d love to find some fabric painted the same way……I would make a robe from it to wrap myself into. glorious!
