Money anguish

oppression - peinture chantal peguiron

Oh beloved

Why are you so afraid to lack of money

Have you lived a life of misery

where people didn’t pay a cent for your art

Have you known the cold and the hunger

and the iced pavements battered by northern winds

where the only paper you had was scratched

and your oil paint dry or empty

Why is this anguish so deeply ingrained in you

that you decided to explore it again in this life

Tell me what’s the key

where to press my fingers on your forefront

to free you from this fear

The moon is shining bright outside

and the sky has cleared

Fear not life

for this time

your destiny resembles that of the moon tonight

“Oppression” is a drawing by Chantal Peguiron
