Twin flames

Twin flames

Two little boats

watch one another

silent and still

One is fastened with a chain

the other one is free but does not move

Two little houses watch over them

One house for each boat

One body for each flame

When will the little boats break loose

and let the current of life

carry them to the river of light

When will the flames retrieve one another

and dance and embrace

within the warmth of their soul

Our houses are pretty and tidy

Our gardens are well-growned and flowered

but how can we appreciate all that

when we live in perpetual shadow

ignored by the sun in its daily course

“Twin flames” is a drawing of mine
