Winged serpent

Winged serpent3

A centipede snake

With a knot in his throat

Stepped into my drawing

I know he has something blocked in his throat

Because I can feel it in mine too

When I’m drawing the contained outburst of colors there

His long body plods in flowered fields

Rows on the sparkling sea surface

Attracted by a strong light in the horizon’s sky

In the darkness of his skin

There are reflections of colors

So dark they appear almost black

As a remembrance of a time

When serpents could fly
